This result is particularly gratifying for Pond Security: two of the company’s employees made it to the finals and took the top two spots.

Katja Schwan: Security Officer of the Year 2026
Katja Schwan has been with Pond Security Service GmbH since 2003. For more than two decades, she has been known for her sense of responsibility, professionalism, and level-headed approach to security work.
Two incidents from her career were highlighted in particular. In 2013, while on duty, she responded to a serious accident at the facility, immediately took the necessary steps, and administered first aid until emergency responders arrived.
In 2014, she again demonstrated exceptional composure and sound judgment in a potentially dangerous situation at the factory gate. She recognized the situation early on, denied entry, and stabilized the situation until the authorities arrived.
Since January 2026, Katja Schwan has also been completing advanced training to become a Certified Security Officer. The award thus recognizes not only individual incidents but also her long-standing commitment to quality and safety.
Filiz Gülbenim: From a career change to an outstanding second-place finish
Filiz Gülbenim is another prime example of growth and achievement in the security industry. As a career changer with no prior experience in the field, she joined Pond Security Service 5.5 years ago and gradually took on more responsibility.
For three years, she reliably filled in for the shift supervisor before officially taking on the role. Today, she independently leads a team, has earned her Certified Master for Protection and Security, and was honored with second place in one of the industry’s most prestigious awards.
Her leadership style combines clarity with a close connection to the team. As a result, Filiz Gülbenim embodies modern leadership in the security industry and the opportunities for professional growth within Pond Security.

Two finalists, two top rankings, one company: This result underscores Pond Security’s strong performance. It shows that exceptional work in the security industry doesn’t happen by chance, but stems from experience, ongoing training, and a corporate culture where people can thrive.
